Davidson High School has an excellent reputation for music education and performance. The HSC results in music are exemplorary. Music is an integral part of Davidson High School's curriculum with its strong emphasis on developing student performance in a nurturing and professional environment.

The music faculty at Davidson offers a variety of elective and non elective courses for students fro Years 7 to 12. The program begins with the mandatory Year 7 and 8 course which covers the core fundamentals of music and progresses through to the HSC level elective courses in Music 1 and 2.

The keyboard laboratory and practical performance spaces allow students to develop their skills in musicology, aural, composition and performance.  Music students can join a wide range of music ensembles which include concert bands, stage band, vocal ensembles, rock bands and various instrumental groups including woodwind and brass ensembles.

Students regularly perform in public arenas such as school functions, eisteddfods, outside venues, and community events. The major showcase for music is the Davidson's blue ribbon 'Season of Performing Arts' held at the Glen Street Theatre in June each year.
