School Profile - Faculties - TAS

Technology under pins all that we do in TAS. It has more than one definition:

  • Development and application of tools, machines, materials and processes that help to solve human problems. As a human activity, technology predates both science and engineering. It embodies the human knowledge of solving real problems. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

  • Human innovation in action that involves the generation of knowledge and processes to develop systems that solve problems and extend human capabilities.

  • The innovation, change, or modification of the natural environment to satisfy perceived human needs and wants.

In the TAS KLA we promote production and evaluation of quality designed solutions.

TAS builds on Science and Technology K-6 and offers a K-12 curriculum experience in areas of choice. TAS offers a wide range of subjects allowing students to pursue compelling interests in a diversity of design specialisations, materials and interests.
