In Visual Arts and Photography students:

• explore their own world to seek inspiration for their artworks

• learn about the practice of other artists to assist their own artworks

• develop an understanding and appreciation of art in an historical and contemporary context

Practical forms of Art making include:

• drawing

• painting

• printmaking

• wet photography

• mixed media

Facilities include:

• 3 Art rooms

• A fully equipped darkroom

• Computer rooms with Adobe Creative Suite CS3 software

Excursions include:

• Art Express at the Art Gallery of NSW to view exemplary HSC artworks

• Visits to the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of NSW to view speical exhibitions

• The Bondi Sculpture by the Sea Walk for drawing, photography and studying artists' practice

• Taronga Zoo for photography

• Botanical Gardens for drawing and photography

Annually the Senior Art and Photography exhibition is in the last week of August in the Jan Jones Room.  At this exhibition the HSC Bodies of Work are displayed for viewing.
